The multiplication of orchids is a specialised intricate, sensitive process in which the young plants go through different phases. Before the process starts, the Dutch independent inspection organization Naktuinbouw checks whether the mother plants are free of viruses. We then multiply the approved mother-plant material in our state-of-the-art tissue-culture laboratories in the Netherlands and India.
Multiplication of Anthuriums is also a specialist and sensitive process in which the young plants are grown in different phases. Before the process starts, the Dutch independent inspection organization Naktuinbouw checks whether the mother plants are free of viruses. After the laboratory has delivered the micros we multiply the stock plant material at our own nursery in the Netherlands.
Each phase in this process of growing orchids and anthuriums starts with a treatment of the young plants in one of our grafting chambers. After this treatment the young plants are transferred to a culture medium in a laboratory dish. The composition of the medium differs per phase and per variety of the young plants.
As the initial stages of orchid propagation take place at our own Laboratories, the laboratory dishes are placed in a climate chamber. however, the plants are first treated in a grafting room and provided with barcodes. Via the barcodes our control and management system follows the development of the young plants through the various phases in the laboratory. We have entered into partnership regarding the laboratory material for anthuriums, but the post-laboratory phase is carried out entirely under our own management.
